Evelyn Cao, Division 1
Evelyn is 8 years old and in 3rd grade at Brookfield Academy in Troy, Michigan. She loves piano and began her piano studies when she was 5. She currently studies with Catherine Rollin. In March of 2022, Evelyn won third prize in the Chopin International Competition in Hartford, CT, as one of the youngest pianists in her division. She also was honored to win first prize in Division I of the 2022 Metropolitan Detroit Musician’s League Young Artist Competition. In addition to her love of piano, Evelyn also loves LEGO sets, swimming, skiing, and reading.

Bryna Sullivan, Division 2
Bryna Sullivan is a seventh grader from Van Hoosen Middle School who began taking piano lessons at age 6 with Ms. Marta Pietrzyk. At age 7, she began to compete at various piano contests and won several awards. Those include the AGM National Age Championships in 2017 & 2018 and two consecutive first-place awards in the MDML Competition in 2018 and 2019. In 2019, Bryna also took 1st place in Division I of the Steinway Competition. In May 2021, Bryna won 1st place in the intermediate division of MMTA SAT competition. Besides piano, Bryna is also a great dancer. She enjoys swimming, skating and reading. She hopes to attend U of M on her journey to becoming a concert pianist.

Justin Hu, Division 3
Justin Hu is a sophomore at Pioneer High School, Ann Arbor. He started playing piano at age 7 and studies with Professor Joel Schoenhals. He also enjoys playing violin and belongs in Pioneer’s symphony orchestra. Justin's other interests include reading and solving the Rubik's Cube.
