Hyun-Jung Oh has performed in numerous solo and chamber recitals receiving reviews of “poetic, thoughtful performance with impressive technique”. Since she made her debut at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in New York City, she has performed as a recitalist, a soloist, and a chamber musician in the United States, Canada, France, Austria and Korea. Among many awards and prizes she has won top prizes in the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition, the Kingsville International Competition-Isabel Scionti Solo, the Stravinsky International Piano Competition, the Pacific International Piano Competition, and the Missouri International Piano Competition-Junior Division.
Hyun-Jung Oh was invited as a guest recitalist to the Moulin D’Ande Summer Festival in France, Eastman Summer Festival in New York, Donnell Library Concert Series in New York City, and to the “Rising Star Series” of the Busan International Music Festival in Korea. She has also performed as a soloist with the China National Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra, Ulsan Philharmonic Orchestra, Daegu Philarmonic Orchestra, United Korean Orchestra and Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra. She has appeared at a number of major concert halls in Korea as a recitalist including Seoul Arts Center, Sejong Cultural Center, Keumho Art Hall and Busan Cultural Center.
A native of Korea, Hyun-Jung Oh received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and her Doctoral degree from the Eastman School of Music in the U.S. where she also earned her Master’s degree and Performer’s Certificate. She has also finished the Post Graduate Program in University of Music and performing Arts in Vienna, Austria and her teachers are Yong-Hi Moon, Julian Martin and Natalya Antonova. She is currently giving regular solo and chamber recitals. Among those, she meets audiences through her annual recital series, "Piano Spirit by Hyunjung Oh." She is currently devoted to teaching at Dongduk Women’s University in Korea.
